2009 Colgate Country Showdown

Your home for Today's Best Country, KLBC 106.3 FM, is on the lookout again for contestants with musical savvy to compete in our 11th Colgate Country Showdown in Texoma.  The competition for musical acts, with sponsorship from High Meadows Apartments and The Phone Zone, will be May 29 during Durant's Magnolia Festival.  Entry deadline is May 15.  Download entry forms here or get one at KLBC's studio, 1418 N. First Ave., Durant.  The local victor will be awarded a trophy and go on to compete in the state contest.  The prevailing performer will receive $1,000 and advance to the regional round for a shot at the national title and $100,000.  Due to tremendous response, contestants will be determined after submitted demos undergo a rigorous screening process conducted by an impartial panel.  A time limit is imposed upon each act to ensure the show will fit into the 90-minute time slot.
